Autumn Tints Wednesday 29th June
Cancelled Due to Weather
Sunday 26th June Club Run Greystoke.
A rearranged club run due to the Sheep Centre now being a heap of rubble so member make their way to Greystoke, they were Maggie, Stewart, Tracy, Roy, Steve, Sue and John.
On a much colder morning with the forecast for rain in the afternoon member slowly made their way out of the car park.
Following the Sea to Sea route out of Greystoke the group continued to follow the route through Newton Rigg College into Penrith.
After negotiating their way through Penrith the group eventually ended up on the A66 above Eamont Bridge.
Tracy decided at this point to head straight to the lunch stop at Stainton, leaving the rest to continue on.
Leaving the A66 the group followed the A6 for a short distance before turning right to Pooley Bridge to be cheered on by spectators watching a triathlon.
By the time the group had arrived in Pooley Bridge the sun had appeared raising the temperature enough for some to cast clothing.
A nice sunny day brings the crowds out, Pooley Bridge was no exception which was good to see after the devastation of the December floods.
After a brief stop it was back on the bike to cross over the River Eamont on the newly constructed bridge.
Following the road by the lake opened up the view of the lake to expose the mountains beyond, before turning right to join the A592.
It was then along the A592 passing Dalemain House famous for its Marmalade Competition to the lunch stop at the Kings Arms in Stainton.
Sat waiting was Tracy who had left the group earlier, to be joined by the rest along with Anita and her mum.
After a good meal and chat it was back on the bikes for the ride back to Greystoke before the rain appeared.
On reaching Greystoke Piller Tracy decided to take the direct route back along the B5288 while the rest took the longer route.
This took them back through Newton Reigny, Laithes and Blencow before arriving back in Greystoke just as it began to rain.

Autumn Tints Wednesday 8th June Aquarium Maryport.
Dianne and John welcomed members to start from their house now that the Sheep Centre looks like a bomb site.
They were Sue, John, Roy, Steve, Maggie, Stewart, Janet and Ivan and dog walker Maurice.
After tea coffee and biscuits and a long chat that included the clubs two weeks in North Yorkshire members began to make a move.
Already to go when Stewart said I’ve got a flat tyre, it was as you were, while Stewart repaired the puncture, soaking up the sun.
Eventually wheels started to turn with Dianne leading the group away from Parkside through the back streets to join the main road by the Lakes Centre.
It was then onto Low Brigham to Cross the A66 to Broughton Craggs, displaying a road closed sign.
This was soon evident that the road closed sign was for the bridge over Broughton Beck, damaged in the December floods.
After negotiating the security fencing, was followed by the climb to cross the A594 to Tallentire and the fast descent to Greengill.
Turning right at Greengill it was onto Gilcrux with more downhill, before the drag up to Oughterside to cross the A596 to Hayton.
From Hayton it was mostly downhill to the coast road at Mealo House, where the group turned left into a cold wind.
Having ridden most of the morning in the sun, riding along the coast road towards Maryport was completely different, with mist rising of the beach.
On arrival in Maryport Maurice was waiting having had his lunch and walked the dogs, the group headed for the Aquarium for their lunch.
Lunch and chat over it was time to leave, leaving Maurice with his dogs, while the group followed the road and cycle path to Camerton.
Leaving the cycle path at Camerton the group turned left to join the Seaton road to Broughton Moor, turning right at the crossroads to Great Broughton.
After the welcome descent, it was over the A66 into Low Brigham, only to cross the A66 again before arriving in Cockermouth.
Saying goodbye to Janet, Maggie, Ivan and Stewart in Cockermouth the rest continued on to Parkside for a welcome drink.
Sunday 5th June Parkside Cleator.
With most members on holiday or doing other things, only nine turned up for lunch, they were Frances, Joe, Tracy, Brian, Dave, Roy, John, Maggie and Stewart.
Tracy and Brian had cycled from home using the cycle path, Dave had done the same.
While Frances and Joe had parked their car at the hotel and cycled up and down the cycle path.
John cycled from home to meet up with Maggie, Stewart and Roy at Trough Bridge for their nine thirty start, to ride out to Parkside.
Leaving almost on time the group crossed the A66 to climb the hill past the Embleton Spa Hotel to join the old road into Cockermouth.
With very little breeze and the sun shining made for perfect cycling as the group tackled Chapel Brow to join the cycle path to Whitehaven.
On arrival in Whitehaven they took the route passed the marina, before they continued on the cycle path to the lunch stop at Parkside.
Sat outside having lunch were Tracy, Frances, Brian and Joe enjoying the sun, the Maggie group opted for the same, to be joined by late arrival Dave.
Lunch over members began to leave all heading for the cycle path Tracy, Brian and Dave turned left towards Cleator Moor, while the Maggie group turned right to Rowrah.
Leaving the cycle path at Rowrah it was onto the main road to Lamplugh, this was followed by the climb to Fangs Brow.
Following the Sea to Sea route the group arrived in Lorton, leaving the Sustrans route it was onto Hundith and Embleton.
At Embleton they said goodbye to John who had to continue onto Braithwaite, while the rest had just down the hill to go back to Trough Bridge.

Starting from Maggie and Stewart were Roy and John, John having cycled and pushed his bike up the forest track from Beck Wythop.
Sat round the kitchen table drinking mugs of tea and tasty shortbread biscuits, one but could only admire Stewart’s carpentry.
He had constructed a permanent seat round half the Kitchen table that included a cupboard and wine rack.
After a long chat and with no one else having turned up, the four decided to leave on a much colder morning than the previous days.
Turning right onto the A66 was followed by a left turn onto the old road heading for the Distillery, where they turn left to Isel Bridge.
Keeping left after crossing the river the group turned right after a short distance towards Sunderland.
After the climb through Sunderland the group turned left past Threapland Moss along a rough section of road to the A595.
Crossing the A595 it was all downhill to Threapland, followed by the drag up to Bothel to cross the A595 again to the Craggs.
Good lunch and chat as usual before leaving heading in the direction of the Castle Inn, where John carried on to Keswick, while the rest made their way back to Trough Bridge.
